Artesa Vineyards & Winery Unveils New Tasting Salon

Artesa Vineyards & Winery has long been known for its dramatic, Mediterranean inspired hilltop estate in Carneros.

And now, the property boasts a newly remodeled Tasting Salon offering pairings of single vineyard wines and Barcelona-inspired bites. Showcasing the winery’s signature Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, tastings can also include vintage Estate sparkling wine, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo and Albariño.

The Spanish tie-in is appropriate. “Artesa” is Catalan for “artisan,” and Artesa is a Spanish-American founded in 1991 by Codorníu-Raventós. The Codorníu-Raventós group is the creator of Cava and the oldest family business in Spain with more than 460 years of winemaking expertise.

This is the 17th generation family’s first winery outside Spain.

For the new Tasting Salon, views are front and center, through floor to ceiling windows plus a terrace overlooking the Carneros Valley. At the heart of the chic, bright-white space is a dramatic circular bar covered with hand-made tiles, custom designed and imported from Barcelona. The walls also are decorated with artwork commissioned for Artesa’s new wine labels.

Guests relax on leather lounge chairs and at tall white tables, choosing from several experiences:

FLIGHT: Five single vineyard wines ($45 in the salon; $55 on the terrace, no appointment needed)

VINES & WINES: July through October, guests can tour the vineyards, sipping sparkling wine and Pinot Noir next to the very that produced them. Includes two more wines in the salon ($60).

CHOCOLATE INDULGENCE IN THE GRAND SALON: Indulge in five reserve red wines with five handcrafted chocolates from Kollar Chocolates of Yountville ($60).

VINO CON QUESO IN THE GRAND SALON: Limited release and Reserve wines paired with artisan cheeses from Spain and the U.S. ($60).

TAPAS & WINE IN THE GRAND SALON: Small Spanish bites round out the wine tasting ($60-$75).

PINTXOS AND WINE IN THE GRAND SALON: Pintxos are like tapas, but spiked with a skewer ($60-$75).

SIGNATURE TASTING EXPERIENCE IN THE GRAND SALON: Five wines served with a charcuterie plate ($75).

CAVIAR/TULIP TASTING EXPERIENCE: Four wines served in tulip glasses, paired with Tsar Nicoulai American White Sturgeon caviar, potato crisps and crème fraiche ($75).
