This is a special time in Napa Valley – this is Harvest. After constant watch, the grapes are now ripe and ready. These grapes have survived unpredictable weather, pests, mildew, and the occasional snacking of animals such as birds and deer. Late at night or in the early dawn when the temperature is coolest, crews pick the grapes from the vine. Then the grapes are sorted and crushed.
Although many Napa Valley wineries are extremely busy during Harvest, there are some willing to share the experience with guests or celebrate the excitement of the season with special events. Napa Wine Tours has picked a few to share.
