When I hear the word “Napa” the first thing that comes to mind is wine. After thoughts of world-class wines comes gourmet food. Sadly, local music is not at the top of my list – but it should be! Napa is more than wineries and restaurants. Napa is an entire community which includes talented musicians.
Napa is proud of its songwriters and music-makers. If you’re looking to enjoy local Napa music, it’s not too late to make reservations for the perfect evening. The Napa Valley Opera House is presenting a concert titled, “We Live Here,” Friday, August 13 featuring The Juliane Band, Napa Valley Barbershop Chorus, Threshold Choir, and Robert Sherman & Friends.
The Juliane Band, a folk/roots band, has earned a faithful following thanks to thought-provoking lyrics combined with talented vocals, skillful instrumentals, and the sound of instruments not often heard such as the mandolin and the accordion. The exquisite harmonies created by the Napa Valley Barbershop Chorus and refined after over 50 years of practice are not to be missed. The unique and lovely Threshold Choir uses the power of women’s voices to aid and comfort others. Rob Sherman & Friends creates original music using the guitar and cello.
You don’t want to miss this celebration of Napa musicians at one of Napa’s historic venues. Since 1880 the Napa Valley Opera House has served the Napa community. After extensive renovations, the Napa Valley Opera House opened again in 2003 and has been going strong ever since.
Why not begin the evening by visiting one of Napa’s delicious restaurants before the concert? Napa Wine Tours can pick you up from anywhere in a private, chauffeured vehicle just for you for your evening out on the town in Napa Valley.
